Background

CO₂ equivalent (CO₂e) is a unit that takes into account not only carbon dioxide (CO₂) but also other gases that are harmful to the climate, such as methane or nitrous oxide. Agricultural animal husbandry is responsible for about a quarter of all greenhouse gases and thus also for progressive global warming. With a vegan diet, we can therefore drastically reduce our CO₂e footprint.
